Welcome

Frequently Asked Questions:

Getting help researching and using Library resources:

  • Look through the Finding Resources Guide for advice on getting started with searching and use the comprehensive Help sections in individual databases
  • Look out for Information Literacy, referencing and database training in your modules (if there aren't any, ask your module leader to invite us to speak at a lecture or organise a workshop)
  • Attend Information and digital literacy training in the LibSmart programme - classes could be online or face to face this year.  Upcoming workshops are listed elsewhere on this page, or see the LibSmart guide for more details. I (Alice, your subject librarian) run the workshops on Bloomberg and Citation Searching, and there are many other great workshops run by other librarians
  • Get help from the librarian on duty at our LibSmart service, Monday - Friday. At the start of the 2021/22 academic year, a librarian will be at the LibSmart point on the first floor of the Library, near the business books from 1-2pm and then available on LibChat from 2-5pm (via the link at the edge of this page).  We may increase the face to face availability as term goes on.  I'll let you know on Twitter @BBSLibrarian when I'll will be available each week.
  • Book an appointment (over MS Teams or Zoom) using the link on this page. If there aren't any available then email me (I try to make them available a few weeks in advance, but don't always manage this!)
  • Email me telling me what you'd like help with

LibSmart Point & Chat

Academic Liaison Librarians are available to chat between 1pm-4pm, Monday to Friday term-time about using library resources and referencing.

You can join us in person at the LibSmart Point desk on the first floor of the Library between 1-2pm on weekdays, and chat to us online via the LibSmart Chat between 2-4pm.
