Following a worldwide survey Turnitin identified 10 types of unoriginal work which reflected different degrees of copying severity. They called this the "plagiarism spectrum". Examples of the different plagiarism types identified by Turnitin are shown below with Clone, CTRL-C and Mashup considered the most problematic.
