Mapping Agencies
There are a number of Mapping Agencies (also known as Mapping Authorities) around the world, and many countries have their own mapping agency. They are responsible for compiling the geographical information for the region they serve, and this data is then used by governments and businesses as well as individuals.

The national mapping agency in the UK - responsible for mapping of land-based features.
- The Admiralty
A UK based mapping authority focusing on the mapping of the oceans. Maps may include sea depth and sea current data.
