Welcome to the Social Work subject guide.

The aim of this guide is to highlight the key resources and library support available for Art Psychotherapy. Here's a quick run down of the contents:

  • Journals and Periodicals - Highlights from our subscriptions and advice on finding academic journal content. 
  • Databases - Accessing and finding scholarly articles through specialist databases.

  • Using Other Libraries - Advice on visiting other libraries for research purposes. 
  • Referencing - Guidance on how to cite and reference correctly in your assignments. 
  • Research - Information on what research support is available at Brunel, including managing research data etc.

  • Check out the Library Welcome Guide for an introduction on how to use the library. Ideal for new students and those who want to refresh their knowledge. 
  • The Academic Liaison Librarians run a programme called LibSmart which offers a range of online and in-person sessions, drop-ins, and other events, that are designed to help you develop information handling, research, and referencing skills. Find out more by going to the LibSmart Guide
  • You can borrow up to 15 items if you are an undergraduate or taught postgraduate, and 20 items if you are a research postgraduate. Find out more about borrowing by going here

LibSmart Point

Opening hours

Academic Liaison Librarians are available between 1pm-4pm, Monday to Friday term-time to discuss queries about using library resources and referencing.

Outside of these times, you can use the Library chat service and your query will be picked up by another member of Brunel Library staff or our friendly co-op support staff, who provide us with 24/7 chat coverage.

Please bear in mind that all appointments are online and will be carried out using Microsoft Teams.

If you require help with CASP or PRISMA please refer to Blackboard or speak with your lecturers.

For Harvard referencing, please refer to the e-book Cite them Right (you can search for it by title using Library search on the homepage). In addition to this, a comprehensive slide deck covering referencing and also a Zoom recording is available within the dissertation module area in Brightspace.
